Hundreds of Fond du Lac residents gathered in solidarity Sunday to march for peace and change in the wake of the death of a black man at the hands of white Minneapolis police officer.   The residents gathered at the intersection of Johnson and Main Streets, marching  west to the parking lot of the Forest Plaza Mall.   The Together We Stand Peace Walk was organized by the Fondy United for Diversity group.

Fond du Lac police are investigating a train-pedestrian fatality.  The incident happened early Sunday morning on the railroad tracks south of Scott Street.   A caller reported that a train struck a person who was laying on the tracks.

6-1-20 man struck and killed trying to rescue turtle on interstate

RACINE, Wis. (AP) — Authorities say a tow truck driver attempting to rescue a turtle on an interstate highway in southeastern Wisconsin Friday was struck and killed by a semi-trailer driver who then fled the scene.
