The North Fond du Lac school superintendent says Horace Mann High School is holding out hope for some type of an in-person graduation ceremony this summer. Superintendent Aaron Sadoff says as of today school officials are looking at dates in late July or early August. The state Department of Health Services and Department of Public Instruction are strongly recommending schools hold virtual graduation ceremonies to maximize the safety and health of everyone involved. The state has also issued guidance for districts that are planning drive-in ceremonies with students and families in cars, wearing masks, or drive-through ceremonies, with assistance from police for enforcement and control. The Fond du Lac school superintendent says Fond du Lac High School is planning for a virtual graduation ceremony later in June. Superintendent Dr. Jim Sebert says while some school districts are considering drive-in or drive-through ceremonies, that doesn’t make sense when Fond du Lac’s graduating class is around 500.
