The Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer says while she was disappointed the state Supreme Court tossed out the Stay at Home order she did not feel it was necessary to continue a public health order in the county. While other some other counties were extending their own safer at home orders only to later rescind them, Mueller quickly rescinded a county public health order that had been issued in March. “I did believe in the Safer at Home order and was upset with the fact that it was overruled,” Mueller told WFDL news. “But the fact is whether it would be yesterday if it would be opening up or if it would be on the 20th opening up or on the 26th, regardless, the businesses are going to be opening up.” Mueller says she also felt comfortable that a local task force has been working to help businesses develop guidelines for safely reopening. At the same time Mueller says people still need to practice social distancing and says mass gatherings are not safe even though there are no longer limits on crowd size following the Supreme Court decision.
