The Fond du Lac School District is pleased to announce that “Parents During the COVID-19 Crisis” have been selected for the 2019-20 Friend of Education Award. The Fond du Lac School District in partnership with the Fond du Lac Education Association select an individual or group each school year to recognize as a Friend of Education. “We wanted to recognize all parents for the incredible way they adapted and partnered with us to oversee over two months of education at home,” said Dr. James Sebert, Superintendent of the Fond du Lac School District. “As we thought about what the Friend of Education Award represents, it was clear to us that parents and guardians deserve special recognition for their tremendous efforts to get their family through one of the most challenging times in recent history, and all while also helping their children stay engaged as a learner with our schools.”
Each year since 1998, the Fond du Lac School District and the Fond du Lac Education Association have collaborated to
select an annual Friend of Education Award recipient. The award is presented to individuals and/or organizations who
contribute significantly to the mission of the Fond du Lac School District. Last year, the Friend of Education Award was
presented to Envision Greater Fond du Lac for their efforts to provide learning opportunities to students that help them
become college and career ready. The 2019-20 Friend of Education Award will be presented during the Fond du Lac School District Board of Education virtual meeting on Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at 5:30pm. The agenda and Zoom access information can be found on the District’s website at www.fonddulac.k12.wi.us.
