Several police squad cars responded to a Fond du Lac business Monday afternoon after a group of protesters gathered in response to comments the business owner posted on Facebook before the Fond du Lac Peace Walk a little more than a week ago. A crowd of people carried signs reading “Black Lives Matter” and “Threats of Violence are no joke” outside the My Custom Shop Business near the corner of North Main and Cotton Streets. Fond du Lac city councilmember Arletta Allen says the owner of the business, Darren Shipton, posted comments threatening to kill and run over protesters at the Peace Walk. Shipton’s post stated “I’ll have my tow truck out tonight, better keep the protests peaceful.” Fond du Lac Police Chief Bill Lamb says police were investigating the posts.
