A handful of states have hit the pause button on any further reopening of their economies amid a spike in coronavirus cases, but there is no turning back in other states despite warning signs. COVID-19 cases are rising in nearly half the states, but Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says it may be still too early to say if there is a beginning of a second wave of the virus. “When we look at the data and we see a normal amount (cases) that we see every day and then you start to see that increasing without a plateau or it decreasing right away, that would be a concern and something we would want to keep an eye on,” Mueller told WFLD news. There were 16 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in Fond du Lac County over the weekend. There are now 273 positive cases in the county, 79 active cases and seven people are currently hospitalized.
