6-19-20 grothman-police reform

Republican congressman Glenn Grothman says instead of policing reform efforts need to be made to make it easier for police departments to get rid of bad officers.   Grothman was reacting to bills introduced both the House and Senate.  “I’ve been very outspoken that the Democrat bill was a bad bill,” Grothman told WFDL news.  “The idea of getting rid of qualified immunity would have been a disaster.”   Grothman says the problem is that police unions have been protecting officers who should be fired.  “…making it easier of getting rid of a bad policeman, just like (governor) Scott Walker made it easier to get rid of a bad teacher.”
