6-22-20 small business grant program

The secretary of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation is reminding small business owners affected by the COVID-19 pandemic to apply for the latest grant program.   Qualifying small businesses have until  11:59pm Tuesday to complete an online application on the WEDC website for a $2500 grant.   WEDC secretary Missy Hughes says a little more than a month after the Safer at Home order was lifted she continues to hear that businesses are struggling, but are making it through.  “I think the real concern was we can’t step backward,”  Hughes told WFDL news.  “We can’t have another shutdown.  We’re also starting to see some longer term impact on manufacturers of aircraft parts or paper are starting to have some layoffs.”   Meanwhile, Hughes says another federal economic stimulus package is important for businesses, individuals, and local and state governments.
