The Fond du Lac School Board has officially accepted the resignation of Superintendent Dr. Jim Sebert. Sebert is leaving the District after accepting the superintendent position in the Waukesha School District. His last day in Fond du Lac is June 30 and Sebert says his decision to move on is bittersweet. “It is my hometown, I’ve loved my time here,” Sebert told WFDL news. The school board has voted to hire Human Resources director Sharon Simon as the interim superintendent for the upcoming school year. Sebert says hiring Simon as interim superintendent will give the board more time to conduct a thorough search for a permanent replacement. The Director of Human Resources position will be filled on an interim basis by Stacey Buchholz, who currently serves as the Principal of Sabish Middle School. Kate Pogorelec, the current Assistant Principal at Sabish, will serve as the school’s Principal during the 2020-21 school year. Jenny Hughes, a Teacher from STEM Academy, will become the Interim Assistant Principal at Sabish Middle School.
