Nominations are being taken for this year’s Fond du Lac County beautification awards. Since 1967, the county’s Natural Beauty Council has been recognizing local residents for their beautification and preservation efforts through landscaping and outside property improvements. Council chairman John Rickert says there are a lot of things people can do to make their property look nice. Rickert says it seems that people are spending more time in their gardens this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Nominations will be accepted at the County Clerk’s Office until Friday July 17. The Natural Beauty Council will tour the nominated sites in early August and awards will be presented at a fall session of the Fond du Lac County Board.
