MADISON, Wis. (AP) — All prisoners and staff in Wisconsin’s 36 adult prisons will be tested for COVID-19 under the state Department of Corrections’ plan to resume more normal operations. The Wisconsin State Journal reported Thursday that the procedures include quarantining new prisoners and transfers for 14 days. 6-5-20 i-41 crash in fdl

Minor injuries were reported following a two vehicle crash on Interstate 41  in Fond du Lac.    Shortly after 2pm Thursday a pickup truck collided with another vehicle on northbound 41 just south of Highway 23.   The Sheriff’s Office says various tools in the pickup truck bed were scattered across the Interstate.  Traffic was reduced to one lane around the accident scene.

The lakeside festival that draws hundreds of thousands of people to downtown Milwaukee each summer has been canceled after it was earlier moved to September. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the suspects involved in a high speed chase.  It started shortly before 9pm Wednesday on Interstate 41 near Johnson Street in the City of Fond du Lac.   The vehicle failed to stop for the deputy and continued south on Interstate 41 at a high rate of speed.    The vehicle exited at Military Road and the pursuit was terminated at Military Road and Ninth Street. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The attorney for a man whose criminal case was featured in Netflix's “Making a Murderer” series says he has contracted COVID-19 in prison.  Kathleen Zellner tweeted Wednesday that Steven Avery has the disease. 6-4-20 wi elections commission picks new leader

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Elections Commission has chosen a new leader. The commission voted unanimously Wednesday to make Commissioner Ann Jacobs the panel's new chair. She replaces Dean Knudson, whose two-year stint as chairman ended Wednesday. Knudson will remain as a commissioner, however. The commission is divided evenly between three Democratic commissioners and three Republican commissioners. Jacobs is a Democrat. Knudson is a Republican.
