The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office wants residents to have an enjoyable but safe Fourth of July holiday weekend. The Sheriff’s Office is participating in Operation Dry Water to educate boaters about the dangers of boating under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Sheriff’s Lieutenant Chris Dobyns says in Wisconsin last year 254 citatations were issued for alcohol violations involving boaters. There were 82 reported boating incidents in Wisconsin last year resulting in 50 people injured and nine fatalities.
