The Fond du Lac Public Works director says he doesn’t know what to make of the recent flooding rainfall. Back to back floods last week made streets impassable, stalled vehicles and backed up basements throughout the city. Public Works director Jordan Skiff says the city’s storm sewer system is not sized to handle that much rain in such a short period of time. “It just seems like the storms that we’re getting are more frequent than I would have expected and they’re strange,” Skiff told WFDL news. “…not only the intensity. It’s not a nice, slow rainy day. It’s a clear day that turns into a 45 minute rain storm that you can’t see through and feels like you’re in the jungles of the Amazon.”
