A retired Ripon College economist says it’s important to get the next coronavirus aid package done as soon as possible. Congress is on recess but economist Paul Schoofs says deadlines for many of the aid programs expire by the end of the month. Schoofs says while any package would help the two trillion dollar difference between the Republican plan and what the Democrats want is huge. “Either one of those packages would be valuable for the health of the economy,” Schoofs told WFDL news. “The difference is very, very big. We’ve already had in the packages that have passed with bipartisan support, it’s been close to that amount.”
