After very little movement for over a year, work has restarted at the Fond du Lac Forest Mall. Fond du Lac Community Development director Dyann Benson says demolition of the former JCPenney and Sears Department store buildings started last Friday. Benson says in the end the mall will be replaced with a Meijer SuperCenter and gas station convenience store. The says the estimated construction timeline is 18 months to two years. Kohls Department Store and Staples will remain to the west, with Meijer in the middle and the vacant Younkers building to the east.
