A Fond du Lac resident who is opposed to an alternate Lakeside Park plan is promising an effort to put a citizen’s referendum on the November ballot. Darlene Hogan says Lakeside Park does not need more commercial development. “It’s a sanctuary. It’s a quiet greennspace where families can go, where individuals can go and have peace and quiet without anything commercial around them,” Hogan told WFDL news. Hogan says she supported a 2016 plan that proposed an amphitheater in the empty field in the western half of the park. Hogan says that same plan also included a restaurant in that area of the park. Hogan says in the near future there will be a public survey and petitions will be circulated to put a citizen’s referendum on the fall ballot.
