Nobody was seriously injured when a driver accidentally hit the gas pedal thinking he was applying the brake and struck a house in Fond du Lac County. It happened Tuesday on Oak Hill Road in the town of Empire. The Sheriff’s Office says the 53 year old Fond du Lac man had pulled over to the side of the road to clean his windshield off. The driver accidentally pushed on the accelerator and the vehicle went down the hill striking a house. The driver was not injured, and a resident and pet who were home at the time, were not injured. The operator was issued citations for obstructed view and failure to keep control of vehicle.
