The Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer is issuing an alert with a recent spike in COVID-19 cases in Fond du Lac County. More than 20 new cases were reported Wednesday bringing the total number of positive cases in Fond du Lac County to over 700. Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says in the last couple of weeks there have been over 130 positive cases, resulting in increased hospitalizations and two additional deaths. Mueller says the problem is families going to large gatherings, not social distancing or wearing masks. She says some people with COVID symptoms have been at these gatherings spreading the virus. Mueller says it should be an awareness for everyone that “COVID is here, it’s not going away and it’s infectious.”
