The Fond du Lac Public Health Department says 51 people tested positive for COVID-19 during drive-thru testing last month at the Fond du Lac County Highway garage. With assistance from the Wisconsin National Guard nearly 1600 people got tested last Friday and Saturday. Meanwhile, since the start of the pandemic last spring, Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says there have been just over 12 hundred cases with a total of 80 people hospitalized. Mueller says the message hasn’t changed: that the vast majority of individuals can handle COVID-19 at home without medical intervention. But Mueller says the worry is that even if you can handle the virus, you can also spread it someone at risk who may have a poor outcome.
