The environmental health supervisor with the Fond du Lac County Health department says a setback this week regarding the development of a coronavirus vaccine by the pharmaceutical firm AstraZeneca doesn’t come as a surprise. Danielle Vollendorf says that’s why testing is important and distribution of a vaccine can’t be rushed. AstraZeneca on Tuesday temporarily halted it’s phase three trials of a possible coronavirus vaccine after one participant suffered what may have been a serious adverse reaction. Meanwhile, there were 40 new COVID-19 cases in Fond du Lac County Friday, bringing to 1,397 the total number of cases in the county. There are 419 active cases and 13 people are currently hospitalized.
