A government watchdog group is encouraging college and university students to make sure they are prepared to vote on or before November 3. Common Cause in Wisconsin director Jay Heck says if you have a drivers license you’re good to go. Heck says many students don’t realize the standard student ID at most of the state’s four year schools and private universities can’t be used as a photo ID to vote. “What they (students) probably don’t know is that in only five in of the 13 public universities in Wisconsin is the ID that you’re issued compliant with state law,” Heck told WFDL news. Heck says students that don’t have a drivers license need to check now to see if their ID is compliant so they can vote. Heck says students also need to make sure they are registered to vote.
