The Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer is telling people not to go to the hospital emergency room to get a COVID-19 test. Kim Mueller says with COVID testing demand increasing, many people are showing up or calling emergency department to get a test. Mueller says emergency departments are not set up as locations for community testing. Mueller says people experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should call their doctor or the COVID-19 clinic. The COVID Clinic number is (844) 225-0147, for Fond du Lac County residents. Mueller says people without symptoms do not need to get tested. To help with increasing demand, a second testing location is being added as of Monday to provide more convenient access to individuals in the Waupun and Ripon area.
