Longtime Fond du Lac County Circuit judge Richard Nuss is retiring. Nuss has announced that he will not be seeking re-election to another term in next April’s election. Nuss has served nearly 20 years as a circuit court judge. Before that he served as Family Court commissioner and 22 years in private practice. “It has been my distinct privilege, pleasure and honor to have been a member of such a distinguished judiciary and to have presided over Fond du Lac County Circuit Court, Branch 3, for almost 20 years,” Nuss said. “I could never properly acknowledge my sincere appreciation and thanks to my staff, co-workers, attorneys, and colleagues. This has been a very humbling, extremely gratifying and most rewarding experience – one that I never took for granted and have cherished every day. While my retirement will be most welcomed it is certain to be very bittersweet.”
