Fond du Lac County is eyeing property just northeast of the city for future a future park. The county has made an offer to purchase the land for $360,000. It’s located just north of Fond du Lac to the east of Highway 151. County Land Information director Terry Dietzel tells WFDL news the 24 plus acre parcel includes 19 acres of cropland, a little over five acres of woods and a thousand linear feet on the ledge. Dietzel says it’s a unique piece of property that includes the ledge with a beautiful, unobstructed view of Lake Winnebago. If the county board gives approval, Dietzel says he envisions the property as a conservation-type park, natural area. The county board will consider the proposed land purchase at their meeting next week.
