A Beaver Dam man convicted of head-butting a police officer is going to prison. Dodge County Circuit judge Martin DeVries sentenced 27 year old Jessie Garcia 3 1/2 years in prison and eight years extended supervision for two counts of battery or threat to an officer and resisting an officer causing substantial bodily harm. The defendant will also spend 8 years on supervision following the prison sentence. According to a criminal complaint Garcia was arrested for OWI in Watertown, released from custody, got back in his car, still intoxicated, and drove to Beaver Dam. Beaver Dam officers intercepted Garcia who became uncooperative. One officer was injured trying to get Garcia out of his vehicle and Garcia head-butted a second officer twice, as the officer was attempting to place Garcia in a squad car.
