The Dodge County Highway Commissioner says he was encouraged to see that most residents responding to an online survey are supportive of borrowing money to pay for highway maintenance. Highway Commissioner Brian Field says while 29-percent of respondents were opposed to any borrowing, 40 percent said they would support borrowing up to $18 million to improve more than 50 miles of county highway. Thirteen percent support borrowing six million and 18 percent favor borrowing $12 million for 34 additional miles of road improvements. Field says additional state revenue doesn’t seem likely.
