One person was treated for smoke inhalation in a fire that damaged a Fond du Lac home Monday morning. Fire chief Pete O’Leary says firefighters were called to the scene at 11 East Tenth Street shortly before 9:30am Monday to find a man on his front porch screaming that his house was on fire. O’Leary says the fire caused significant heat and smoke damage inside the house, and melted the vinyl siding on the front porch, leaving the home uninhabitable. A pet dog died in the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
