With just a week before the election a new AARP Wisconsin poll reveals a tight presidential race in the battleground state. The survey of likely Wisconsin voters age 50 plus finds former vice president Joe Biden with a slim 49 to 46 percent lead over president Donald Trump. Overall favorability for Trump is up two points from September to 50 percent, while Biden’s favorability went down two points to 48. AARP Wisconsin spokeswoman Lisa Lamkins told WFDL news the survey shows that older voters, especially voters age 65 plus may be the key swing group. Lamkins says the survey also found that fears about contracting the coronavirus have increased among those age 50 plus. Lamkins says issues that matter to older voters include preventing cuts to Social Security and Medicare, and lowering prescription drug prices.
