A proposed Fond du Lac city budget includes a decrease in the tax rate. The council held a public hearing on the budget at their meeting Wednesday night. City manager Joe Moore says the four percent reduction in the tax rate is the biggest drop in the past decade. A public hearing was also held on the transit budget. Earlier this year the city temporarily halted taking fees from bus riders in an effort to prevent spread of the coronavirus.
