10-31-20 brewers decline options on gyorko, sogard and gamel

MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Milwaukee Brewers have declined 2021 options on infielders Jedd Gyorko and Eric Sogard as well as outfielder Ben Gamel. Gyorko and Sogard each had $4.5 million options and now instead become eligible for free agency. Gyorko gets a $1 million buyout and Sogard $500,000. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin says the number of active COVID-19 cases within the football program had increased to 16 as of Thursday morning. School officials said they learned of one more positive polymerase chain reaction test result late Wednesday, and that two more were confirmed Thursday. 10-30-20 another covid-19 death in fdl county

Another   Fond du Lac County resident has died from COVID-19.    The 72 year old man died at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh.  There are now 20 COVID-19 deaths reported in Fond du Lac County.  Meanwhile, 149 new positive cases were confirmed in Fond du Lac County Thursday, bringing to 4,803, the total number of cases in the county.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin will open scores of additional COVID-19 testing sites to help deal with the state’s surge in coronavirus cases. Gov. Tony Evers announced Thursday that the state's health department will open 71 more community testing sites and operate them through Dec. 10 using federal coronavirus relief dollars. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The University of Wisconsin-Madison will resume enrolling patients for a coronavirus vaccine trial next week. Thirty-six people had received the first of two shots before the study at the School of Medicine and Public Health was paused in September. 10-30-20 fdl city budget hearing

A proposed Fond  du Lac city budget includes a decrease in the tax rate.  The council held a public hearing on the budget at their meeting Wednesday night.
