10-30-20 wi republican party says hackers stole $2.3 million

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The head of the Wisconsin Republican Party says hackers stole $2.3 million from the party’s account that was being used to help reelect President Donald Trump in the key battleground state. 10-30-20 endangered wolves

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Trump administration's decision to remove gray wolves across most of the U.S. from the endangered species list will force Wisconsin wildlife officials to again offer a wolf hunting season. 10-29-20 fire damages fdl home

Nobody was injured in a fire that caused significant damage to a house in Fond du Lac.   Firefighters were called Thursday morning to 594 East Bank Street to a report of smoke coming from the roof of the house and extinguished the fire.  All of the occupants were able to get out safely.   The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

10-29-20 covid-19 testing continues thursday at fdl county fairgrounds

More than a 23 percent  of the Fond du Lac County residents who got a free COVID-19 test at the Fairgrounds last week tested positive for the virus.  Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says more than 400 people total used the drive-thru testing site last Thursday.   Mueller says a little under 250 Fond du Lac County residents tested negative for the virus while 83 tested positive.  The drive […]

10-29-20 car plunges into fdl river

Two people were rescued after their car drove into the Fond du Lac River.   Wednesday afternoon rescue personnel were called to Division and Macy Streets where they found a car in the river with two occupants inside.   Fire chief Pete O’Leary says two adults were cold and taken to St. Agnes Hospital for trreatment.   Fond du Lac Police are investigating the crash.

10-29-20 winnebago county man arrested in fdl county for 7th owi

A Winnebago County man has been arrested in Fond du Lac County for his seventh OWI.   Forty one year old Jeremy Kuel was arrested by the state patrol after a trooper noticed Kuel was not wearing his seatbelt on Highway 151 southbound at Interstate 41.   The trooper initiated a traffic stop for the violation. Upon the troopers investigation, it was determined Jeremy J Kuehl was also operating his motor vehicle above his .02 restriction.

10-29-20 fdl county clerk says thousands of mailed absentee ballots have still not been returned

The Fond du Lac County Clerk says there are still several thousand mailed absentee ballots that have not been returned.   The U.S. Supreme Court ruled this week that the ballots must be received by election day.  Clerk Lisa Freiberg says 24,759 ballots were mailed out and 20,161 have been returned.   Even at this late date Freiberg says people are still asking for ballots.
