Area Republican lawmakers have been re-elected to another term in office. Fond du Lac State representative Jeremy Thiesfeldt was re-elected to the 52 District Assembly seat defeating his Democratic opponent by nearly eight thousand votes. State senator Dan Feyen of Fond du Lac was re-elected to a second term in the 18th senate district with 59 percent of the vote. Michael Schraa was re-elected in District 53. State representative Joan Ballweg of Markesan was winning her race for the 14th District state senate seat, to replace the retiring Luther Olsen. Republican congressman Glenn Grothman defeated former Democratic state senator Jessica King for the 6th District congressional seat. Grothman received 60 percent of the vote.
