11-5-20 biden wins wisconsin-local reaction

After a roller coaster ride on election night, Joe Biden has won Wisconsin by less than 21 thousand votes.  Tom Kitchen with the Fond du Lac County Democratic Party admits he thought Biden might lose when he went to bed early Wednesday morning.  “I went to bed around 2:30am, got up again at 4am, we’re still behind, got up about every half hour after that.   I was resigned after I went to bed that maybe this was going to be 2016 all over again,”  Kitchen told WFDL news.  Chairman of the Republican Party of Fond du Lac Count Rohn Bishop acknowledges losing Wisconsin is a blow for the president, but says the overall race is still undecided.  “There’s enough states outstanding that we’re not going to concede anything yet,”  Bishop told WFDL news.  “But if I was running for president of the United States I’d rather be Joe Biden than Donald Trump at this moment.”    Kitchen says with the Wisconsin win he feels good about Biden’s chances.  “I’m cautiously optimistic.  I think obviously Biden is in a better position right now than Donald Trump.”   Bishop says he was disappointed that Trump declared victory early Wednesday morning before all  the votes were counted, and says he hopes Trump accepts the outcome when everything is tallied.  “It’s good to have all hands on deck and be prepared in case there is a recount or legal actions that need to be taken,”  Bishop said.  “But I would say more times than not I think the system works really well.  There isn’t the kind of vote fraud that sometimes we say there is.  Our system is pretty solid actually.”
