11-10-20 fdl’s holiday automotive donates to united way

Over 170 employees of Holiday Automotive have collectively contributed $40,380 to help fund the 2020 Fond du Lac Area United Way Campaign. “We’re very proud of the final number and the generosity of those that helped us make it happen” said Holiday President, Thor Gilbertson. “One of our company’s core values is; we give where we live to support and serve our local communities. The fact that we were able to exceed our $35,000 goal by over 15% is a gratifying example of how our team members serve our community by living this core value.”    Rebecca Johnson, Holiday’s Director of Business Development, who also volunteers her time as a board member of the Fond du Lac Area United Way, is serving as this year’s campaign chairperson.    “It’s very special to see this kind of  generosity and support from my Holiday teammates, they dug deeper than they have any other year,”  Johnson added.   “The pandemic we’ve all had to square off with this year meant that the United Way organization and its many volunteers had to find creative, new ways to
approach the area-wide campaign. One challenge was having to replace what are usually face-to-face meetings with virtual sessions to tell our story and get the word out,  then identify and embrace new tools that allow for digital giving. It’s been challenging  and energizing to craft new processes that are yielding results like this to make the Fond du Lac area stronger and better in so many ways.”
