The Fond du Lac County Public Health officer is urging local residents to celebrate Thanksgiving with their immediate family only. Kim Mueller echoed comments from the state Health Services secretary warning people to scrap plans for Thanksgiving gatherings as COVID-19 cases continue to surge across the state. Mueller says the problem is that two days before the onset of symptoms you are potentially at your most infectious period. “It’s not safe. If we want these cases to lessen, we need to change our actions that would potentially increase them,” Mueller said. Fond du Lac County topped 8,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases this week and now has more than 40 COVID-19 deaths.
