The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office is joining law enforcement agencies across the state in participating the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Tony Evers' administration is looking for public feedback on simplified unemployment benefit applications. The Department of Workforce Development announced Monday that it plans to simplify applications starting this spring. The department says the changes should help applicants understand questions and avoid erroneous answers that could delay processing. 12-29 Poor Ice Conditions

Even with the recent colder weather local law enforcement and first responders are warning people about dangerous ice conditions on area bodies of water. Fond du Lac Fire Chief Pete O’Leary says there hasn’t been a sustained cold spell to build up enough ice to make it safe. O’Leary cautions that no ice covered body of water is ever 100 percent safe:

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Meteorologists believe that mysterious sounds reported southeastern Wisconsin may have been caused by a rare natural phenomenon known as “frost quakes.” They happen when moisture in the ground suddenly freezes and expands.  Muskego police on Sunday received reports of loud booming noises in the city but were unable to determine the source of the sounds. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Two pharmacy chains have launched an effort to inject tens of thousands of Wisconsin nursing home residents with a COVID-19 vaccine.
