Advisors to president-elect Biden are pushing for Democratic leaders in congress to reach a quick stimulus deal with senate Republicans, even if it falls short of the larger package Democrats are seeking. A bipartisan proposal was unveiled this week and retired Ripon College economist Paul Schoofs says with the increasing possibility of a “double-dip” recession early next year, he thinks that would be the best move at this point. “We do know there is a new administration coming in in late January and so to bridge that time I would agree that although a much bigger package would be the best medicine right away whatever can be agreed to, that would be the smart thing to do,” Schoofs told WFDL news.
