A retired Ripon College economist says president-elect Biden’s economic team will face a huge challenge in rebuilding an economy hammered by the coronavirus pandemic. Biden says he’s chosen a “first-rate team” that is “tested and experienced.” Retired Ripon College economist Paul Schoofs says the team will have to hit the ground running immediately after the president is inaugurated in January. I think he’s got a very good team that he’s put together,” Schoofs told WFDL news. “People within the economics profession have given awards and recognition to the people that he’s named.” Schoofs says without aid for struggling small businesses, the concern is that more services will be provided by less diverse larger corporate properties with a fewer range of options for consumers.
