12-9-20 fdl council to consider public safety referendum

The Fond du Lac city council will consider placing a public safety referendum on the April election ballot at their Wednesday meeting.  The referendum question will ask residents for permission to increase the $28.6 million tax levy on an ongoing basis by  $1.3 million to pay for six firefighter/paramedics and six police officers.  Council president Brian Kolstad says if the referendum passes the owner of a $100,000 home would see a 43 dollar increase on their property tax bill.
