Starting Monday Fond du Lac’s Holy Family Communbity is providing a day shelter for the homeless at the St. Mary’s Church Outreach Center. Holy Family spokeswoman Sarah Razner says since the start of the pandemic, homeless residents have struggled to find a place to stay warm as organizations have been forced to limit their hours and visitor access. Razner says the St. Mary’s Outreach Center on East Merrill Avenue will be open from 9am to 4pm, Monday through Friday. The homeless day shelter is open for clients of The Salvation Army Warming Shelter, which provides a place for up to 40 people to stay each night during the winter. Trained volunteers will manage the day shelter.
