Fond du Lac County Executive Al Buechel has officially announced he is running for re-election. Buechel was first elected to the Fond du Lac County Board in 1976 and was first elected county executive in 1993 and re-elected every term since. “I think I still have a lot to contribute for the county. I love what I do,” Buechel told WFDL news. “There’s no greater pleasure for me than to make Fond du Lac County a better place to live, to work, to do business.” Although there is a light at the end of the tunnel with a new vaccine, Buechel says the coronavirus pandemic continues to be the county’s biggest challenge.
