12-22-20 interim fdl superintendent says goal is in-class instruction

The Fond du Lac School District interim superintendent says the goal is still to have in class instruction five days a week at some point before the end of the school year.   Sharon Simon says the District has been holding it’s own since returning  to a blended model  after the Thanksgiving holiday.  The District was forced to go to all remote learning earlier last month due to a staff  shortage because of COVID cases.    Governor Evers recently hinted that Wisconsin schools should consider re-opening after the winter break.   The governor said the patchwork of decisions to close or remain open has been messy and online learning has resulted in less than “devine” outcomes for children.   Simon says it’s her hope the District can go to all in-class instruction at some point.  Meanwhile, Simon says the winter sports schedule continues, although there were recent positive COVID cases in the hockey program.  The High School’s popular Night of Silence will be performed live last weekend on YouTube.
