12-28-20 christmas holiday slows covid testing in wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin has reported its lowest number of daily coronavirus cases in months after testing dropped over the Christmas holiday. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported 632 people tested positive for the coronavirus and four people died from COVID-19. 12-28-20 covid-19 vaccine-st. agnes hospital

The Fond du Lac St. Agnes Hospital president says more doses of the COVID-19 vaccine are expected to arrive soon.   Katherine Vergos says more than 900 employees received the vaccine during the first round.  Vergos says she anticipates more employees will receive the vaccine this week.

12-28-20 fatal rollover crash on hwy 151 in calumet county

One person was killed in a one vehicle rollover crash on Highway 151 in Calumet County near the Fond du Lac County line.   The crash happened early Saturday morning on 151 near West Jefferson Road in the town of Brothertown.  A preliminary investigation shows that a vehicle was traveling southbound on Highway 151 when it left the highway and rolled over multiple times.

12-28-20 serious injury crash-dodge county

One person was seriously injured in a two vehicle crash in Dodge County.  The crash happened Saturday afternoon on state Highway 60 near O’Connor Road in the town of Elba. A preliminary investigation  shows that a Ford SUV was traveling east on Highway 60 when it collided near the center line with a westbound  Chevrolet SUV.   The driver of the Ford SUV  was flown by helicopter to UW Hospital in Madison with serious injuries.   The […]

12-28-20 wi drunken driving convictions down

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin Legislative Bureau report shows that yearly convictions for drunken driving and other related offenses dropped by nearly 18,000  between 2004 and 2018. The study also shows that alcohol-related fatal crashes have also declined in Wisconsin in the past 12 years, which mirrors a trend seen nationwide. 12-24-20 apartment fire displaces fdl family

Nobody was injured in a fire that significantly damaged a Fond du Lac apartment unit.  Shortly before 10:30pm Wednesday firefighters were called to 880 Martin Avenue where they extinguished a fire in a second floor apartment bedroom.   The occupants were out of town at the time of the fire.   The cause of the fire is undetermined and under investigation.   FDLFR was assisted by fire departments from the Town of FDL,  North FDL, Lamartine, and Ripon.  […]

12-24-20 covid-19 cases top 10,000 in fdl county

Fond du Lac County has topped 10,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases.  There were 39 new cases reported Wednesday bringing to 10,013 the total number of cases in the county.  Wisconsin health officials have confirmed hundreds of new COVID-19 cases across the state. 12-24-20 christmas safety during pandemic

The Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer is reiterating her longstanding plea for residents to curb their normal Christmas and holiday plans this year.   Kim Mueller says it appears residents were heeding that advice during  Thanksgiving and need to continue to do so.  Mueller says the number of COVID cases locally has been on the decline recently, but the virus is still circulating in the community.
