2-1-21 high speed chase, standoff in dodge county

2-1-21 driver arrested following vehicle chase in fdl county

One person was arrested following a chase in Fond du Lac County Friday.   It started after the Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a reckless driver In the Eden area, nearly causing a crash and forcing another vehicle  off the road.  The driver  failed to stop for deputies on  Highway V south of Eden and continued southbound  at or under the speed limit during the pursuit.  The vehicle eventually stopped  just outside Campbellsport.  […]

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A new report shows nearly 80% of indefinitely confined voters in November's elections produced a valid photo ID for at least one election dating back to 2016. Indefinitely confined voters came under scrutiny following President Joe Biden's narrow win in Wisconsin because state law allows them to obtain absentee ballots without providing photo ID. 2-1-21 packers fire defensive coordinator

The Green Bay Packers have fired defensive coordinator Mike Pettine and special teams coordinator Shawn Mennenga after the team’s second straight NFC championship game loss. The Packers’ announcement of the moves late Friday afternoon said that Mennenga had been dismissed and Pettine wouldn’t return next season. 2-1-21 fdl man sentenced to prison for armed robbery

A Fond du Lac man convicted of armed robbery is going to prison.  Fond du Lac judge Richard Nuss sentenced Desmond Hicks to 15 years in prison followed by ten years of extended supervision.  Hicks was convicted of multiple charges including armed robbery with use of force, and reckless endangering safety, substantial battery-domestic abuse, burglary and maintaining a drug trafficking place.  Other charges had been dismissed and read into the record.

2-1-21 waupun man sentenced in drug case

A Waupun man is going to prison for dealing drugs.  Dodge County Circuit judge Kristine Snow has sentenced 33 year old  Bradley Valcq, to two years in prison and five years of extended supervision for Possession with intent to Deliver Amphetamine and Possession of Narcotic Drugs.  Valcq was found in possession of  methamphetamine,  crack cocaine, heroin, psychedelic  mushrooms and marijuana.

2-1-21 kirsh foundry fire-beaver dam

Nobody was injured in a fire at the Kirsh Foundry facility in Beaver Dam Friday.   The manager reported active fire and not to use hoses due to molten metal being involved.  A furnace had failed spilling a large quantity of molten metal causing combustible materials in the area to ignite. Firefighters applied small amounts of water cooling the area without causing the molten metal to explode.

2-1-21 fire-metalcraft beaver dam

Fire forced the evacuation of Metalcraft in Beaver Dam Friday.  Firefighters were called to Metalcraft of Mayville in Beaver Dam, encountering heavy smoke in the production area, locating the fire in a metal dust collector.  Several ABC fire extinguishers were used to extinguish the fire, because water causes additional damage to the machinery.   Nobody was injured.  The Department’s rescue hovercraft was used to help ventilate the smoke from the large structure.
