A little more than three months after an ethics complaint was filed against Fond du Lac city councilmember Ben Giles, a second complaint has been filed with the Fond du Lac Ethics Board against another individual. The board has scheduled a closed door meeting for 4:30pm Tuesday at the City County government Center. The meeting notice does not say who the complaint was filed against or the nature of the complaint. It comes a month before a formal hearing in the Giles case. Last November the board found probable cause that Giles violated three sections of the city’s ethics code. The complaint was filed last September. A hearing is also scheduled that same day in Fond du Lac County Circuit Court in a lawsuit filed against the city regarding an alternative development plan at Lakeside Park. The city of Fond du Lac and the business group Lakeside Forward have filed responses, asking a Winnebago County Circuit judge to dismiss the lawsuit and a temporary restraining order that would prevent the city from taking further action to develop Lighthouse Point or Oven Island while the lawsuit is pending.
