1-5-21 new fdl judge sworn into office

Campbellsport attorney Tricia Walker says she has always wanted to make a difference.  Walker was recently appointed by Governor Tony Evers to the Fond du Lac County Circuit Court, replacing the retiring circuit court judge Gary Sharpe.  When she was sworn into office Monday, Walker became the first female circuit judge in Fond du Lac  County history and only the third Asian-American to ever serve as a state court judge in Wisconsin.  Walker says she decided to apply for the position because she saw an opportunity to “help more people and in the long term make the system as efficient as possible.” Walker says she told the governor that as judge she wants to focus on  “Showing everyone that she can represent people from all walks of life, all backgrounds.”   In appointing Walker, governor Evers said Walker has “dedicated her career to respecting the rule of law, treating everyone fairly, and upholding constitutional rights.”
