The Dodge County Sheriff is warning residents about dangerous ice conditions on area bodies of water. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says most Dodge County lakes are not suitable for normal winter recreation activities. Schmidt says motor vehicle traffic is not advisable on any waterway in Dodge County and he says there are still some open areas of water. If you decide to go out on the ice, wear a life jacket, have ice safety picks with you, inform a family member or friend of where you will be and check local ice reports and physically check the ince where you plan to be.
