A Fond du Lac Lakeside Park management team has released it’s recommendations for an alternate park master plan, that does not include an amphitheater at the park. The recommendations were presented at Monday night’s advisory park board meeting and will be reviewed by the Fond du Lac city council at their meeting Wednesday evening. A restaurant is moved farther west from the Lakeside Park lighthouse, an ice-rink would be located near the splashpad, and an amphitheater is no longer on the table under proposed recommendations from a Lakeside Park management team. City manager Joe Moore says test concerts would be held at the park next year and the year after to determine if a stand-alone amphitheater would be viable at the park. The management team, comprised of city officials and representatives of the business group Lakeside Forward has been negotiating an alternate plan since a consultant released it’s findings and recommendations last fall.
