1-30-21 ripon dispatch consolidating with fdl county

The city of  Ripon dispatch center is consolidating with the Fond du Lac County communications center.  After voting earlier this month to keep Ripon’s dispatch center separate, the Ripon Common Council reversed itself this week by voting in favor of consolidation.   Fond du Lac County  director of communications and emergency management Bobbie Hicken says Ripon is the final community in the county to join since the communications center was consolidated in 2004.  Hicken says the consolidation […]

1-30-21 fdl man charged in drug overdose death

A Fond du Lac man has been charged in the drug overdose death of a woman.  Thirty five year old Christopher Hoerth is charged with first degree reckless homicide and felony bail jumping.  He is accused of supplying fentanyl that led to the death of a woman in North Fond du Lac last May.

1-29-21 fire damages beaver dam apartment building

Nobody was injured in an apartment fire in Beaver Dam.  Shortly before 6:30pm Thursday firefighters were called to the 16 unit apartment building on Lakecrest Drive to find  flames shooting out of a second story apartment window.   The fire caused damage to the apartment unit and smoke damage throughout the building.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.

1-29-21 legislature’s campaign committees spent record $12.1 million

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A new report finds the Wisconsin Legislature's four campaign committees spent a record $12.1 million in 2020. The Wisconsin Democracy Campaign released an analysis Thursday that found the spending easily eclipsed the previous record of $8.4 million set in 2018. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Black man whose arrest last summer ignited a violent protest in Madison, Wisconsin, has been sentenced to two years of probation and time served on a federal extortion charge.
