MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Milwaukee Brewers have promoted Sara Goodrum to minor league hitting coordinator. Brewers vice president of minor league operations Tom Flanagan says that “to our knowledge, she would be the first” woman to hold that position in an MLB organization. 1-28-21 first mass covid-19 vaccination clinic at fdl county fairgrounds expo building

The first mass COVID-19  vaccination clinic went off without a hitch at the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds Expo Center Wednesday.  Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says more than 1100 doses of the vaccine were administered to Fond du Lac County residents age 65 and older.   Residents who received the shot told WFDL news they were excited and encouraged others to get the vaccine when they are able.  Another clinic […]

1-28-21 fdl city council president reads pro-life proclamation

After declining to read a Pro-Life proclamation at the previous city council meeting because of it’s political tone,  the Fond du Lac city council president read a revised proclamation at Wednesday night’s meeting.  City council president Brian Kolstad says the re-worded proclamation removed political statements, and instead references the many groups who identify as pro-life in the Fond du Lac community.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The state Department of Natural Resources policy board has overwhelmingly approved new rules that would dramatically raise costs for nonferrous mining in Wisconsin. The rules require mining applicants to pay more for permits and licenses and supply more detailed plans to the department. 1-28-21 agnesian healthcare foundation receives major donation

The Fond du Lac Agnesian HealthCare Foundation has received one of its largest gifts from a single donor after receiving an estate gift from Beatrice Eiring, a former employee and volunteer at St. Agnes Hospital.   The more than $539,000 gift has been directed to the Foundation’s hospice fund.  The estate gift was designated for the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation by Eiring who passed away at the age of 92 in […]

1-28-21 local unemployment rate up slightly

The local unemployment rate is up slightly in the latest reporting period.  The Dodge County unemployment rate increased six-tenths of a percent to 4.5 percent in December.  In Fond du Lac County the December unemployment rate is 4.3 percent, up from 3.8 percent in November.  The jobless rate in the city of Fond du Lac was up a tenth of a percent to 4.5 percent.
